The Feeding Habits of Internet Giants

The mergers and acquisitions potential for some big Internet names — eBay, Google and Yahoo, to name a few — is the subject of a substantial piece of new research from Citigroup. We thank PaidContent.org for bringing it to our attention, as well as for reproducing the report’s chart that breaks down the kinds of companies that the big portals and online-commerce outfits might be considering.

Some highlights from the 44-page report, called “The Outlook for Internet M&A”:

...One particularly interesting part of the report lists private Internet companies that show promise as potential takeover candidates. It includes relatively well-known consumer-targeted Web sites such as YouTube and Facebook as well as smaller technology and software players such as Webaroo and Kanoodle.
