My 2 cents plain on falling movie attendence

Slumping Hollywood rolls out packed lineup of movies December 21, 2005 10:58:13 (ET)
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- And now, for movie studios coping with a lackluster year, comes yet another type of adversity going into the last week of 2005:

Movie attendence is slumping because today's movies are very anti-male. Men are usually portrayed as fools, crooks, bad fathers, sexually unfaithful, etc.

Even when men play heroic roles, they are commonly emotional broken souls rescued by a female authority figure--the Raymond Shaw character in the remake of the Manchurian Candidate. Meryl Streep's line in the movie, "Where are all the Men?" says it all!

Even as the villainous senator and toxic mother, she's more sympathetically portrayed than the Manchurian corporate honchos. When I saw the movie, thought no wonder I need to do shareholder proposals to save my companies from their managements.
