No wonder movie attendence is sharply declining.

The joy of movies is escapism. Nowadays audiences can't escape their problems. Movies are filled the stories about unhappy marriages, divorce, and distressed children of divorce. They are also VERY ANTI-MALE.

Steven Spielberg's "War of the Worlds" doesn't miss a trick in depicting the personal unhappiness shtick. Tom Cruise plays your typical movie male lead--your basic impulsive, poorly educated, low income, divorced jerk who lives in a pigsty, neglects his children. In contrast the movie implies the ex is a saint who was likely abused and mistreated in the marriage. Now she's got a good husband to replace Tom Cruise as her children's father. The new hubbie is clearly upper class, well groomed, passive and deferential to his wife, and picks up the children's private school bills.

Beginning to understand gay marriage for men. Why would men want today's women?

Be happy to (delete you from my cc list).

Allow me this last observation. I think America is where the Soviet Union was in 1980. Like the Russians in Afghanistan, we're using Iraq to distract the public from addressing serious problems the solutions to which would require some very UN-PC thinking. Unless we put our thinking caps on PDQ we could vanish quite quickly into the mists of history as did the Aztecs, Incas, Troy and the Soviet Union. All I'm doing is asking impertinent questions. Troy might have made it had its leadership listened to the one about the dangers of Greeks bearing gifts.

Mark Klein, M.D

Report from San Antonio

Speaking today at the St. Mary's Law School conference on the psychological implications of the rules of engagement. From the talks thus far and informal conversations our current rules are so out of touch with operational realities I detected a deep sense of disssatisfaction with senior command, and generally low morale. Some folks here are openly quite contemptuous about how the war is being fought. Pretty clear we're getting butts kicked 24/7 by a highly motivated, fearless enemy in it for the long haul.

Plan to say today currrent rules of engagement are psycho-toxic and should be scrapped and completely rewritten to reflect the realities of 21st century assymetric warfare. Otherwise we might go the way of the Aztecs, Incas and Troy. The enemy is playing chess while we're playing checkers.

Was very distressed by the Sunday NY Times Business Section article today on PartyGaming. Have a personal interest in today's gambling explosion the result of my 20 year nephew who dropped out of college to become a professional gambler. Got his start online.

Medical evidence is accumulating to suggest habitual gambling is a neuological disorder.
http://info.med.yale.edu/psych/faculty/potenza.html
That might open the door to invoke WTO rules carving out national security and health exemptions to allow us to prosecute offshore operations like PartyGaming, and to circumvent the decision federal case mentioned in the article.

Dr. Potenza's work cited above is part of vast rapidly accumulating body of knowledge about how the brain actually works. The less we rely on laws and regulations predicated on wishful thinking the better our lives will be. This article written for the sophisticated non-scientist laypersons shows how far we've come.

Jim--Just deleted you from my cc list. For those not living on Planet Earth makes perfect sense a senior Republican congressional policy staffer isn't interested in the opinions of a staunch Republican physician and psychiatrist who's spending almost $100,000 to run full page opinion adverts at least monthly though November, 2008 in the national edition of the Washington Times.

Time for a new set of Klein Family Awards. For many years I give $3-4K prizes each to the top math and science scholars at the high school two of my sons attended plus $500-750 to any youngster who gets an 800 on any section fo the SAT I. We're going to have new prize: Klein Family Republican Non-Listener Prize. No money but the pleasure of seeing your name proudly displayed in my adverts. The bad news is the July 18 advert is just about done but maybe I can still figure out a way to give you and few of your colleagues a place of honor. Otherwise you'll have to wait until the August issue. Sorry. Just doing my best.

The good news is you and your colleague Lawrence Willcox will make today's blog. www.drmarkklein.blogspot.com

What's really got me worried is your basic lack of common sense. Instead of picking a fight with me you could just have automatically deleted, or blocked, my messages. You're a press guy??? Surely you've picked up from my e-mails, my blog, and my Wash Times advert I don't take being dissed lying down. There ARE still a few Republican men left will adequate levels of circulating testosterone not on their knees 24/7 licking the dust off the feminists' Manolo Blahniks .

Impertinent questions re our Rules of Engagement

(Prepared for my talk next week for a conference on legal issues involving battlespace civilian contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan at St Mary's Law School, San Antonio.)

PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT OF THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT ON BATTLESPACE
CIVILIAN CONTRACTORS

Success in the asymmetric 21st century battlespace in which uniformed soldiers assisted by civilian contractors performing quasi military functions requires minimizing the incidence and severity of the most common wartime injury, psychiatric disturbances. The psychiatric symptom rate for uniformed military deployed to Iraq is about 17%.#
In contrast to physical injuries which are usually easy to recognize and triage for appropriate treatment, emotional injuries often go undetected resulting in impairment of the person's ability to function to an extent the mission fails and lives are lost or placed at unnecessary risks.
Leaving aside the operational problems, the long term costs of such injuries create staggering direct and indirect financial costs and social damage to others, e.g. divorce, child neglect, substance abuse, antisocial behavior, and poor work performance.
The incidence of psychological injury amongst battlespace civilian contractors is likely to be much higher than the military's. The only peer reviewed study I found on civilians working in the Iraq battlespace reported about twice the military’s psychological injury rate amongst embedded, and non-embedded journalists.# I postulate a much higher rate amongst contractors generally because journalists as a group are better educated, and more psychologically sophisticated.
Excluding organic psychiatric disorders caused by brain injuries and physical illness, the traditional view of the causes of battlespace emotional disturbances are the effects of combat experience itself, unremitting anxiety and fear, loneliness, chronic fatigue, etc.
I postulate the Rules of Engagement may emerge as one of the major causative factors in the appearance of emotional impairments in the 21st century battlespace. I wish to make very clear at this point these are speculations because the issue hasn’t been studied.
The question isn’t whether there should be Rules of Engagement but whether they advance or detract from soldiers ability to achieve victory.
To understand the potential psycho-toxicity of our Rules of Engagement we need to briefly address the underlying psychology of war itself.
In 5th century China Sun Tzu wrote the first fundamental law of war is the “…Moral Law which causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger….(the top consideration in predicting victory or defeat is) “(w)ich of the two sovereigns is imbued with the Moral Law?”#,#
There's probably no better example of the inherent lasting power of the Moral Law concept in action than God's orders to Moses in Exodus XXIII 32-33. "Thou shalt make no covenant with (the Canaanites), nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in thy land--lest they make thee sin against Me, for thou will serve their gods--for they will be snare unto thee." Such is the power of Sun Tzu’s Moral Law it sustained the Jewish people in exile following their defeat by the Romans in 70 A.D. Imbued the Moral Law Zionists began trickling into Palestine in the late 19th century to resettle the Jewish homeland, and after WWI launched a relentless political and underground military struggle against the British and the Arabs until they reconquered Palestine in 1948, subsequently won three major conventional wars, and defeated tenacious terrorist enemies in the face of truly daunting adverse military odds.#
I postulate our Rules of Engagement are psycho-toxic because they exist in the absence of Sun Tzu’s Moral Law. For us the Ruler--the administration, congress and the senior command staff--have not created a unified, consistent political and military strategic accord, particularly on the Iraq War, for soldiers to follow and to inspire for the people left at the home front to act in the best interests of deployed forces.# An example of the home front problem is the very high divorce rate for deployed officers and senior NCOs today in contrast to WWII when there was a national consensus to “keeping the home fires burning“. The power of that ideal was skillfully portrayed in the 1946 Academy Award movie “The Best Years of our Lives”.
The Moral Law principal may explain the higher rate of psychiatric casualties in Iraq versus Afghanistan where there is a national and international political consensus supporting intervention.
Without the Moral Law our forces are at a profound strategic and tactical disadvantage vis-à-vis an enemy so devoted to his Moral Law he launches suicide attacks, and likely when available. will use WMDs to attack our troops, and the homeland.
Absent the Moral Law our Rules of Engagement are little more than an easily revised public relations playbook designed to deal with the pressures of today’s 24 hour news cycle, and to mollify domestic and international critics sometimes at the expense of compromising effective strategy, and placing troops at greater risk. In contrast, imbued with the Moral Rule, the ultimate goal of our 21st century enemies is our destruction no matter how long it takes.
. All this gets translated in today’s battlespace as the fear of being "hung out to dry" by commanders for errors implementing the Rules of Engagement. This is very realistic fear because officers and senior NCOs are held to strict account for violations.
The symptoms of Rules of War emotional disturbances resemble children's reactions to parents going through a contentious divorce. Loyalties are split and ego adaptive capacities are contaminated by conflicting messages. Many psychological observers of children in divorce are basically writing about post traumatic stress disorders commonly seen in military personnel. Like with children the break of fundamental trust in the soldier with the military commander parent surrogate creates lifelong emotional injuries. Symptomatic amelioration is possible but ego adaptive capacities are often permanently damaged.
For soldiers not imbued with the Moral Law, many lose the capacity to handle the common stressors of ordinary life. That's probably an element is the persistent rise of military family divorce.
An additional psycho-toxic factor for battlespace civilian contractors is their legal status is ambiguous leaving them vulnerable to face criminal and civil charges in foreign courts, and conceivably in international war crimes courts.
It’s very unlikely our forces anytime in the foreseeable future will have Moral Rule war leaders like Washington, Lincoln or an FDR.
My role today is to help you with here and now cost effective, practical solutions to reduce common psycho-toxic risks.
Other speakers have addressed training issues so I’ll spend my remaining few minutes on approaches which should significantly reduce the incidence of psychological problems.
Since the risk of family breakdown while deployed is very high, I recommend employers provide at company expense, or via insurance, a lawyer to represent the deployed employee in a new divorce action, and child support and custody matters from a previous divorce, until he returns home. Doing that will reduce expensive premature contract cancellations, job performance slippage, and the appearance of manifest psychological illness.
Effective early legal representation in BOTH situations increase of the odds of avoiding the two main causes of mental illness arising in divorce, namely, loss of contact with children, and financial ruin. With regard to child custody and visitation matters original court determinations are very hard to overturn, or modify significantly. Companies employing battlespace civilians should become thoroughly conversant on federal law’s impact on the enforcement of state divorce decrees. Title 42, Chap 7, Subchapter 4, part D, sec. 666
The below excerpt from a fathers-4-justice chat board posting (www.f4jusa@yahoogroups.com) by this agitated, depressed , financially ruined father speaks to the potential psychiatric consequences of divorce.
“I was deployed in January, 2003 in support of Iraqi Freedom…In October, 2003, my then wife filed for divorce..I was unable to (appear in court) due to being deployed. She was granted the divorce and $1300/month based off of my pay…I found out my ex was cheating on me the whole time I was deployed not only with another guy but also the guy’s wife…Since the divorce, I not only was discharged, but I lost everything in the divorce due to my inability to appear and have since file Chapter 7 bankruptcy…(I face a civil action) requesting that I be incarcerated until all (arrearages are) paid up…I did not consent (to the divorce action) and the soldier sailors relief act has been raised. I hired an attorney to take it back to court and reopen the divorce and it took him four months to get a court date and the date we had, my ex-wife's attorney had to cancel due to a family emergency…Is there any advice from personal experience anyone can give me?”

Financial ruin is a very real risk because of the so-called federal “Bradley Amendment” which bars state courts from reducing or eliminating unpaid child support. 42 Sec 666 sub sec(a), para (9) part c (Bradley Amendment) Once arrearages reach $5,000, they are subject to imprisonment, loss of driver's and professional licenses, and denied passports. Another serviceman’s f4j posting:
“I am just inquiring about so help. Where would I go to get help. my child support payments are currently set up for a $7,000 a month salary and I am an E-4 in the united states army. I have tried many a ways to get this fixed or adjusted and nothing has happened I have hired numerous lawyers to get it adjusted and all of them have told me the same thing Missouri is refusing to work with them and send them the paperwork required so that it may be reevaluated and lowered so I can aculy pay it and still be able to live on what is left. with the child support set so high ($1,500 an month) I have not been able to afford the ful amount so they take most of my check and what I cant afford goes back to child support which is almost 30,000 behind. i am lost and have no clue on what I can do I have tried every thing I could think of. I thank you for any help you can provide.”

Since an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure, I also recommend companies develop outreach programs for the spouses and children of deployed battlespace civilians. In addition to counseling, providing periodic temporary housekeeper services would allow a lonely, overworked stateside spouse a brief respite from the burdens of running the home alone. The happier the stateside spouse the less likely children missing the absent parent would become ill, misbehave at home, do poorly in school, become depressed, abuse drugs and alcohol, act out sexually, or runaway. Outreach services back up by legal counsel might have prevented this very sad situation posted on f4jusa@yahoogroups.com.
“I am …currently deployed to Afghanistan ..(my ex-wife) feels …I have no rights to talk to my child… The 5th of April was her birthday and I tried to call her on that day but was unsuccessful. I really miss her; nothing would make me happy than just being able to talk to her on the phone. I've been trying to call her at home and at her daycare for about a month and a half but her mother blocked my number and doesn't answer the phone. She uses the caller ID to avoid my calls…I (want to) hear my daughter's voice and tell her I love her…I am stuck because of my service for my country. Any assistant you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I don't know where else to turn.” (emphasis added)

The same problems exist for uniformed personnel but the psycho-toxic effects are less than for civilian battlespace personnel because
(1) their legal status is less ambiguous
(2) they enjoy the benefits of membership in the military family which when operating properly “looks after its own”.
(3) better and quicker access to medical care in a sophisticated health system very attuned to look out for psychiatric problems
(4) better job and financial security
I close with a caution. Rich and militarily powerful nations can suddenly fail and vanish into the mists of history because they fall prey to pervasive politically correct thinking. We saw that in our lifetime with the sudden implosion of the Soviet Union.
I came today to raise impertinent questions about the fattest of our military sacred cows--the Rules of Engagement. The impertinent question is the glory and the engine of human enquiry. Nations have always advanced in the shimmering wake of its discontents and fell when, for example, when leaders didn’t pay attention to an impertinent question about Greeks bearing gifts.

Voted for Clinton in 1996 because Bob Dole's office had a drop dead Mr. Republican Voter attitude about reading the mail. His office wouldn't release its fax number to outsiders. Bill--Of course I will. Really pretty rich when a prominent party official doesn't want to LISTEN to someone like me. What you've done convinced me it's worth the effort to try to run for president.

Think America is where the Soviet Union was in 1980. Like America today, Russia was mired in a hopeless military adventure against Islamic extremists and faced daunting homefront social and economic problems.

Its sclerotic political leadership elites were so addicted to politically correct thought critical decisions weren't made and literally overnight 10 years later the Soviet Empire vanished into the mists of history.

That's where we're headed unless people like me ask the impertinent questions.

The main characters in the romantic PG rated comedy "The Perfect Man" are either divorced, single, or a child of divorce. While a so-so production, worth seeing to get a better grasp on the scope of the destruction of the American family. Anyone who's raised kids knows in real life the way Heather Lockley mother character behaved her children would be complete emotional and academic trainwrecks.

The American prosperty delusion
Given the skyrocketing costs of housing, education and medical care we're actually getting poorer and poorer. We're simply consuming our capital in the same way old folks live off the proceeds of a reverse mortgage which of course leaves the children no inheritance. Things are so out of control in the 11/04 issue Oakland City Magazine published my letter:

“Polygamy is an affordability solution to the emergence of the Oakland million dollar bungalow on a postage-sized lot. Taking on multiple wives, or husbands, as the case may be will provide enough adult earners to carry the property and feed and clothe the family.”

The below video link to my remarks at the 4/29 Kellogg meeting in support of my proposal to sell the company addresses the false prosperty issues. http://investor.kelloggs.com/MediaRegister.cfm?MediaID=15614 After logging on fast forward to about 25:30. BRAIN DEAD FOREIGN POLICY IN ACTION

President Bush had a point yesterday calling Iran's upcoming election undemocratic. Only problem is the ayatollahs are the result of getting the Shah booted because we didn't like his bad attitude about democracy either. The Shah went quietly but the fanatics running Iran will likely soon have nukes to stick on the top on ballistic missiles they have which can hit Europe today, and with moderate improvements, North America the day after tomorrow.

Like the Soviet Union, the Iranian regime's likely to implode spontaneously because it can't meet the basic needs of its people. Better we wait quietly rather than strengthen the ayatollahs by giving them political excuses for even more extremist policies and perhaps risk a deeply agitated, cornered Iran in a RELIGIOUS FRENZY launch a preemptive nuclear strike.

BECAUSE THOSE FOLKS AREN'T PLAYING WITH A FULL MENTAL DECK, WE'D BETTER BE!!!!!

HERE'S WHY I'M GOING TO SAN ANTONIO

Yesterday in Iraq a suicide bomber killed more than 20 people, and the relentless attrition of American soldiers proceeds unabated. We're not winning because we adhere to airy fairy Rules of Engagement which fatally restrict our commanders's ability to fight to win while at the same time cause unnecessary casualties to our troops. The Rules of Engagement are a major factor in the very high number of psychiatric problems appearing in our military, and play a major role in discouraging people to enlist.

I'll be speaking on the psychological implications of the Rules of Engagement at the below conference. It's open to the public. I believe there's still time to register.

St Mary's Law School's Center for Terrorism Law in San Antonio is hosting a program entitled "Contractors on the Battlefield: Legal Issues Associated with Anti-Terrorism Training and Personnel Recovery", June 28 & 29, 2005. My panel topic on June 29 will be "The Psychological Impact of the Rules of Engagement on Civilian Contractors(in the battle zone)"

Of course I will remove you from my cc list. Takes my breath away an official of the United States Department of Education doesn't want to hear from a CITIZEN TAXPAYER. You're an example of what's wrong with our federal education bureacracy. Your action goes a long to explain why I spent more than $250,000 for private schools to put my kids through K-K12 for the most part no better than the New York public schools I attended in the 1940s and 1950s.

I lived in Berkeley, CA when my kids were young. Sensible parents like me not only faced daunting tuition costs but fierce competition for private school spaces, particularly at the high school level. Ended up sending two of my sons to a Catholic high school after finishing K-K8 at a Jewish day school.

As my Washington Times advert stated, I believe 2008 will be the American Family's Waterloo. Unless we elect a president really ready to walk the family stability walk, we're doomed to be under the thumb of people like you. We desperately need an administration to sweep the federal bureacracy of anti-family time servers and ideologues.

You should be removed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as mail this, I'm calling Sec Spellings' office to demand just that and post this letter on my blog www.drmarkklein.blogspot.com.

Be happy to. The Democrats are out of power because they NEVER EVER take seriously outside the box super high octane intelligent thinkers, particularly those living west of the Hudson. The party's a political caricature of the famous Steinberg New Yorker cover.

People like me are why the GOP will dominate American politics intor the foreseeable future. Sure my views are so UN-PC they even got designated as such on the conservatively oriented Dixie Internet http://www.wdxb.net/images/abs.jpg. But social revolutions have to start somewhere. Someone's got to utter the heretofore forbidden words. But I will get heard in party circles and in the core constituencies. What I'm doing reminds me of the ferment in the GOP in the 1970s to redefine the party and its message which launched the Reagan revolution and ended up relegating the Dems to irrelevancy.

In my mid-60s I was raised in a New York lower middle class Jewish family where just below God stood FDR. The Democrats drove people like me to the Republicans by being completely DEAF to the needs and aspirations of hardworking strivers. What passes for original thinking in the Democratic Party are FDR and JFK sightings.

I'm going enjoy sharing this e-mail with everyone on my cc list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LATEST DRAFT OF 6/21 WASH TIMES ADVERT

(About me box)
MY PHOTO

I bought monthly full page ad space for messages like this one through the 2008 presidential election. I’VE HAD IT with Republican leadership which talks the stable family talk but won’t walk the walk because the party’s been hijacked by feminist ideology. The male voter is to the GOP as African Americans are to the Democrats.

Sure looks like more of same old same old bankrupt profeminist policies from presidential hopefuls McCain, Graham and Huckabee which brought us a 50% plus divorce rate, declining marriage formations, the obesity driven diabetes epidemic, the gay marriage absurdity , and endless diplomatic and military conflict from trying to impose our version of feminism on countries fearful to do so lest their families go the way of America’s .

We need candidates not addicted to political correctness to address the righting of the social, economic, medical, foreign policy, military readiness and legal catastrophes wrought by feminism. I’ll be addressing all those issues over the next 30 months.

American MEN and WOMEN from across the political spectrum are severely rattled by the feminist instigated collapse of the family, and housing bubble which priced vast numbers of young adults out of homeownership and affordable rentals to forego marriage and return home to live with their parents.

The royal road to a SUSTAINABLE REPUBLICAN MAJORITY is to call ‘em as we see ‘em. We’d have the road ALL to ourselves because the Democrats are hopelessly brain dead on the family.

The America I love is in grave peril.

I’ll be calling ’em and I see ’em 24/7.

PLANET EARTH CALLING RED STATE MALE VOTERS

CHIVALRY DOESN’T MEAN MEN SHOULD BE POLITICAL, LEGAL, AND SOCIAL DOORMATS

The twin pillars of Bush administration family policy--marriage promotion and

“Hell hath no fury…“ federal regulations dealing with divorce-- are irrational, unspeakably cruel to divorced fathers, break the hearts of children, and promote family destruction.

Marriage is inherently unstable. It is a vast, storm tossed ocean for which no compass has yet been invented. That’s why most cultures down through the ages sharply restricted divorce, deeply distrusted romantic love, and pressured people to marry within a familiar social, religious and economic milieu.

With a 50% plus divorce rate marriage today is like going steady in high school in the 1950s.

Divorce becomes self perpetuating as fewer and fewer children grow up in intact families. Children of divorce learn it’s natural to destroy the family rather than ride out the inevitable rough spots likely to occur in any marriage.

Marriage for men today is particularly treacherous because

Thirty plus years of feminist careerism created generations of daycare raised infants and young children so lacking from sufficient maternal affection they sustained permanent developmental arrests in the neurophysiologic structures responsible for empathy. Common knowledge unaffectionately handled kittens, puppies and infant primates have problems caring for their young. More complex social animals like primates also struggle with successful mating and appropriate peer behavior. Males are much less affected. Women today initiate the vast majority of divorces because they can't make the emotional leap from romantic courtship to the empathetic, caring friendship that sustains a marriage over time.

No fault divorce and its equivalents eliminate the contractual elements of marriage. For many middle to upper middle class people seeking divorce, nowadays the vast majority being women, are rewarded with golden parachutes consisting of community property/equitable property distributions, and if there are children, child support.

Federal family policy promotes divorce with overly generous subsidy payments to states to collect child support, and underwrite the costs of jailing fathers in arrears. US Code, Title 42, Chap 7, Subchapter 4, part D, sec. 666. Since federal subsidies are linked to the amount collected, states set payment levels so high as to entice women to divorce. To get the maximum federal subsidies to collect child support states base the payment levels as a percentage of income rather than on the actual costs of raising the children adjusted for the amount the non-custodial parent, usually the father, pays when the children are with him.

The Republican Party cannot win the White House, or control Congress, without winning a substantial majority of the Red State male vote. We demand rapid, substantive reform of federal family policy, and replacement of HHS Assistant Secretary Wade Horn responsible for federal family policy for poor performance. During his tenure, the divorce rate‘s worsened and marriage formations declined.

GUYS, NO REASON FOR US TO REMAIN DOORMATSFOR REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS WHO KISS THE FEMINISTS’ MANOLO BLAHNIKS 24/7 AND THEN WIPE THEIR MUDDY SOLES ON US.

To iFeminist head Wendy McElroy

Dear Wendy--

You confirmed what I've long believed that feminism is an intellectually, if not morally, bankrupt movement which has seen its very brief day. 30 years of in-your-face aggressive feminism brought the destruction of the American family with a 50% plus divorce rate, countless numbers of broken hearted children, an obesity driven diabetes epidemic, and put us in a permanent state of conflict with the Islamic world. At it's core American foreign policy has only one agenda--impose feminism American style in the name of "democracy" on cultures which resist, sometimes violently, for fear their families and way of life with be forever destroyed. They know they're not getting something of value.

Think many find very distressing so much of the electorate sees domestic and foreign policymaking as little more than bodice ripper novel plots with deus ex machina endings.

Even more clear now why I have no choice but to spend close to $100,000 over the next 2 1/2 years to purchase monthly full page opinion adverts in the Washington Times national weekly. Both parties have fallen on their faces to kiss the feminists' Manolo Blahnik's and then afterwards wipe their muddy boots on what remains of the American family. Things are so bad the 2008 election will be the Waterloo for the American Family. The Democrats are utterly hopeless about the family, but perhaps I can help turn the GOP around by putting their traditionally substantial Red State male voter majority into play.

Think men are getting tired of sleeping on the couch all the time for expressing their opinions!

Sleeping on the couch again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got the boot from ifeminists.com after posting the below in response to the site administrater's criticism of my posts.

Dear Brad--Didn't seem like a smart idea to respond to your critical comments as the official moderator. Thought you were looking for a scrap as an excuse to boot me off the board. At least now your position is out in the open.

Ban me if you like but so long as I'm on this board plan to say what I really think. But if you see your role as akin to that of a Soviet political officer assigned to a factory or military unit to monitor political correctness, my days, if not nanoseconds, on this board are clearly numbered.

Your comments are why I'm dropping almost 100 large for the Washington Times adverts to run monthly through the 2008 elections.

Americans make a big fuss about free speech but deep down only want it for the people who agree with them.

Re my supposed criticism of Wendy. Like me, she won't melt.

Republican senators LOVE foreign policy

Gets them off the hook about dealing with the real problem Americans face today--family instability. Nothing like a muscular foreign policy to distract the voters.

Senators McCain, DeWine, Graham & Sununu are all hot and bothered about the Uzbeks who don't mirandize defendants and generally play pretty rough. My e-mail to the senators today.

The glory of the impertinent question

Posted: Sun Jun 05, 2005 9:17 pm Post subject: Women today working for nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Children really identify with their parents' behavior. When it comes to divorce behavior, women are more likely to follow their parents' marital behavior than men.

Re my Wash Times advert I've gotten nothing but positive responses from all over the political spectrum. I was expecting a barrage of criticism particularly from feminists and to a lesser extent liberals. I suspect divorce has touched so many families, people regardless of political affiliation are getting seriously rattled. Our political system will not survive the collapse of the American family.

Take the iFeminist board. All of you appear to disagree with me but I sense a deep sense of concern over these issues.

I want to ignite social revolution. That can only happen by asking impertinent questions. "The impertinent question is the glory and engine of human enquiry... Copernicus asked it and shook the foundations of Renaissance Europe. Darwin asked it and redefined mankind's sense of itself... Bill Gates asked it and was ignored for 5 minutes, which was long enough for him to dominate the industry...Civilization has always advanced in the shimmering wake of its discontents." To: willem.maas@nyu.edu

The economic and social advantages you assert European workers enjoy over ours is illusionary. Those generous benefits were paid for by spending the economic, social and political capital their children needed to gain meaningful employment and enjoy stable family lives. Europe essentially took out a reverse mortgage and spent down the loan amount leaving nothing for its children to inherit. America's doing the same thing.

My youngest boy (20) came over last night for a steak feed and action movie. Last night's flic was a paranoid mid-80s "Rambo" one-man-army anti-Soviet fantasy entitled "Invasion USA". In it the Rooskies land guerillas in Florida who are then dispached around the country to start terrorist operations.

Pointed to him only a few years after the film came out the Soviet system suddenly imploded and vanished because it simply couldn't meet the basic needs of its people. Think the same thing could happen to Europe and America. Most young adults in both face daunting, if not impossible, odds of creating stable family lives.

As the father of four young adult children, I've decided to take ACTION. Margaret Mead was right: "...a small group of thoughtful people could change the world, it's the only thing that ever has." Below is pertinent.

ME: I'm not saying anything of the sort. My basic point is when the majority of women left homemaking to work fulltime there was no parent left to cook balanced, nutritious porton controlled meals.

Feminist careerism ended up pumping too much money into the economy to chase scarce goods and services such as housing and education.

And if moms and dads are off working long hours, marriages get strained. Given today's easily obtained divorce together with golden parachutes like community property/equitable distribution and child support based upon the a percentage of the non-custodial parent's income, usually dad's, rather than actual costs, no wonder women initiate 75% of divorces.

For my critics saying what I really think about the downside of feminism makes me an woman hater. Yet another night on sleeping on the couch!!!!!

Preventing Type II diabetes

(My posting on the ifeminist board www.ifeminists.com for the discussion "Women today working for nothing".)

Post subject: Women today working for nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. X's endorsement of excercise once one has Type II diabetes is correct. I applaud his comments and wish him well.

But for the prevention of Type II diabetes colorie intake regulation is the critical factor.

I recommend EVERY overweight adult in addition to consulting their doctor regularly check blood sugar at least weekly with home glucose test monitors, e.g. Free Style. Very slick virtually painless system.

Regular testing is the best way to head off diabetes. The normal blood sugar upper limit 105-110 depending on test equipment. Diabetes is 126 and above. Between normal and 126 is labeled "impaired glucose metabolism". Diet and excerise here possibly might reverse the process. Key is not to "slip" into diabetes during the impaired glucose window period.

The Free Style and comparable systems are sold over the counter. Because the real money for the manufactuers is in selling the test strips, the meters usually come with substantial rebate coupons.

THIS IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR VISTING YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY AND SCRUPULOUSLY FOLLOWING HIS OR HER ADVICE.

BELOW WILL APPEAR ON THE HEINZ PROXY

Business news briefs: 9/28/04
Tuesday, September 28, 2004
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Investor pushes Heinz sale
California investor Mark Klein wants H.J. Heinz Co. shareholders to vote next year on a proposal that the ketchup company hire an investment bank to explore a sale to maximize shareholder value. In response, the company asked that shareholder submissions for the September 2005 annual meeting be made between December and March.

The shareholders recommend Heinz hire an investment bank to explore the sale of the company.

The GOLD STANDARD test of investment return is PURCHASING POWER with respect to the most sought after consumer goods and services, e.g. housing and education. In recent years Heinz share values failed that test.

Since 1999, Heinz’s nominal share price, unadjusted for the Del Monte transaction, decreased about 27%. On January 1, 1999 Heinz share price was $51.24 The closing price on December 3, 2004 when this proposal was completed was $36.43.

Contrast Heinz share price history in the 1999 to 2004 period with Harvard’s undergraduate tuition which rose 157% from $10,671 to $27,448. Purchasing power-wise Heinz shares also declined significantly over the same period with respect to homeownership. National median home price rose 37%, and in very desirable cities like San Diego over 100%.

In my opinion the principle driving force for such severely escalating prices is feminist careerism which vastly expanded the fulltime workforce without an increase in REAL WAGES. The BUYING POWER of earnings halved since the 1970s because most families today need two incomes to almost equal the buying power one had 30 years ago. Put another way most women working fulltime essentially work for nothing.

Busy, overworked parents have little time to nurture and protect their marriages. Hence more competition for scarce housing from today’s 50% divorce rate, and from young adults now so skeptical of the durability of a loving commitment they marry late, or not at all.

Just Economics 101 supply and demand theory: Too much consumer demand chasing scarce commodities like private undergraduate education and homeownership.

In my opinion the collapse in Heinz shares’ BUYING POWER is greatly magnified by the exploding obesity driven childhood and adult diabetes epidemic. A reflection of the extent of the current epidemic is diabetic home blood test kit suppliers are amongst the leading advertisers on Fox News.

In most families today with both parents working fulltime too few adults and children eat nutritious, portion controlled home cooked meals. Restaurant meals, “t.v.” dinners, and takeout usually contain excessive carbohydrate and fat calories, and very little protein. To reverse the epidemic more mothers need to be at home to prepare nutritious balanced meals, and supervise the children’s snacking.

I believe within a generation at least half the population will become diabetic. The costs of treating diabetes and its devastating cardiovascular, renal, and neurological complications will so threaten the financial stability of the health care system, federal, state and activist local governments will likely impose regulations financially adverse on food processors like Heinz. The fast food restaurant industry is already in the class action tort bar‘s crosshairs.

Regulatory and legal scapegoating is safer politically and public relations-wise than addressing the profoundly negative social and economic train wreck wrought by feminist careerism. Pity the feminist sacred cow enjoys general immunity from criticism.

I believe the sale of company is the best way for shareholders to maximize share value.

Of course I will. A pertinent parting story. When I was a psych resident in the late 1960s & early 1970s, my professors taught everything in the mental life was fair game for analysis. Before Row v. Wade, New York got around the ban on abortion usually by getting a psychiatrist certify the woman would become mentally ill, or even commit suicide by carrying to term. As a 2nd year resident in the clinic, I was assigned to these exams. While not opposed to abortion, soon realized these exams were shams. Was willing to continue to do them but thought worthwhile exploring with the woman the psychological implications were for her of being pregnant, aborting the child, and how all that related to her sexual identity.

Got booted off the assignment because I refused to be anybody's rubber stamp.

Hasn't been my day mailing list-wise. Also got booted today by the President of Harvard's Office. Better than being "Banned in Boston". My blogsite readers will be amused, and I hope HORRIFIED. www.drmarkklein.blogspot.com
